DMI (Directional Movement)

Directional Movement Index (+DI / -DI) — equity trend.

What is DMI?

  • +DI (solid): Positive directional indicator (0–100)
  • -DI (dashed): Negative directional indicator (0–100)

Interpretation

  • +DI > -DI: Bullish — buying pressure dominates
  • -DI > +DI: Bearish — selling pressure dominates
  • Wider gap between lines = stronger trend

Trading Signals

  • Buy: +DI crosses above -DI (bullish crossover)
  • Sell: -DI crosses above +DI (bearish crossover)

Price Overlay

  • Close Price: Daily closing price (right Y-axis)
  • +DI crossing above -DI while price rises = uptrend confirmation
  • -DI crossing above +DI while price falls = downtrend confirmation
  • Price overlay appears automatically for single-ticker view

Interactions

  • Hover / Tap: See +DI, -DI and close price
