Average Directional Index — equity trend strength.
What is ADX?
- ADX (dotted): Trend strength (0–100), not direction
- +DI (solid): Buying pressure (0–100)
- -DI (dashed): Selling pressure (0–100)
Trend Strength
- ADX > 25: Strong trend — consider trend-following strategies
- ADX < 20: Weak/no trend — market is ranging
- ADX > 50: Very strong trend — high conviction directional move
Direction & Signals
- +DI > -DI: Buyers dominating — bullish direction
- -DI > +DI: Sellers dominating — bearish direction
- ▲ Bullish crossover: +DI crosses above -DI — dashed green line (single ticker)
- ▼ Bearish crossover: -DI crosses above +DI — dashed red line (single ticker)
