What is SuperTrend?

SuperTrend is a trend-following indicator that uses ATR (Average True Range) to calculate dynamic support/resistance levels. It displays a single line that switches color based on trend direction.

Parameters (10, 3)

• Period: 10: ATR lookback period
• Multiplier: 3: ATR multiplier — higher = fewer signals

Visual Encoding

• Green: Uptrend — price above SuperTrend line
• Red: Downtrend — price below SuperTrend line
• Shape: Sector identity (e.g., hexagon = Consumer Staples)
• Color: Ticker identity (different per ticker)

Trading Signals

• Buy: Color changes from red to green
• Sell: Color changes from green to red
• Line acts as trailing stop level

Closer-Look Mode

Tap the focus icon to enter single-ticker mode. This adds a close price overlay and highlights direction-flip trend reversal events with vertical annotations.
