FI (Force Index)

Force Index (13) — power behind moves.

What is Force Index?

Force Index (13) measures the power behind price movements by combining price change and volume. Positive values indicate buying pressure, negative values indicate selling pressure.

Parameters (13)

  • X-Axis: Time (candle intervals)
  • Y-Axis: Force Index value (auto-scaled)
  • Line: FI(13) oscillator
  • Zero line: Neutral reference

Interpretation

  • Buyers in control: FI above zero — positive force
  • Sellers in control: FI below zero — negative force
  • Pressure shift: Zero-line crossover — control changing hands
  • Data refreshes periodically — not real-time

Trading Signals

  • Strong positive spikes = aggressive buying force, continuation likely
  • Zero-cross in trend direction after a pullback = re-entry cue
  • Lower force on new price highs = buying force fading

Price Overlay

  • Close Price: Daily closing price (right Y-axis)
  • FI confirming price = strong trend with volume support
  • FI divergence from price = force weakening
  • FI extreme + price reversal = exhaustion signal
