What is HMA?

Hull Moving Average uses weighted MAs and square root of period to reduce lag while maintaining smoothness. HMA-20 provides faster signals than SMA or EMA.

  • HMA-20: 20-period Hull average
  • Timeframes: 4h, 8h, or daily candles

Interpretation

  • Fastest-reacting MA with minimal lag
  • Slope turning up: Early bullish signal
  • Slope turning down: Early bearish signal
  • Data refreshes periodically — not real-time

Trading Signals

  • Buy: HMA turns up from down
  • Sell: HMA turns down from up
  • Faster than SMA/EMA signals

Price Overlay

  • Close Price: Actual closing price (same Y-axis, dashed violet)
