EMA (Exponential MA)

Exponential Moving Average (50/200) trend guide.

What is EMA?

Exponential Moving Average weighs recent prices more heavily than SMA. This chart shows EMA-50 and EMA-200 for detecting Golden Cross and Death Cross signals.

Parameters (50/200)

  • EMA-50: Medium-term trend (50 periods)
  • EMA-200: Long-term trend (200 periods)
  • Crossovers: Key trading signals

Interpretation

  • Golden Cross: EMA-50 crosses above EMA-200 (bullish)
  • Death Cross: EMA-50 crosses below EMA-200 (bearish)
  • Data refreshes periodically — not real-time

Trading Signals

  • EMA(50) crossing above EMA(200) = bullish trend change (faster than SMA)
  • Pullbacks to the 50 EMA in an uptrend = potential support
  • Both EMAs sloping down with price below = confirmed downtrend

Price Overlay

  • Close Price: Actual closing price (same Y-axis, dashed violet)
  • Price above both EMAs = strong uptrend confirmation
  • Price between EMA-50 and EMA-200 = transition zone
  • Golden/Death Cross with price follow-through = high-confidence signal
