Visual Encoding

  • X-Axis: Time (4h, 8h, or 1d intervals)
  • Y-Axis: Ratio 0-1 (0.5 = balanced)
  • Line: Buy ratio trend

Interpretation

  • Buyer Dominant: > 0.55 — sustained readings suggest strong demand
  • Balanced: 0.45-0.55 — hovering near 0.50 indicates equilibrium
  • Seller Dominant: < 0.45 — drops below may precede price weakness
  • Data refreshes periodically — not real-time

Trading Signals

  • Above 0.55 = buyer-dominant tape
  • Below 0.45 = seller-dominant tape
  • Mean-reverting to 0.5 after an extreme = pressure exhausted

Price Overlay

  • Close Price: Daily closing price (right Y-axis)
  • Buy ratio > 0.55 + rising price = buyer-driven rally
  • Buy ratio < 0.45 + falling price = seller-driven decline
  • Buy ratio diverging from price = flow imbalance, watch for reversal
