CCI (Commodity Channel)

Commodity Channel Index (20) momentum.

What is CCI?

Commodity Channel Index (20) measures the deviation of price from its statistical mean. CCI is unbounded, but readings above +100 suggest overbought and below -100 suggest oversold conditions.

Parameters (20)

  • Overbought: >+100 — above normal range
  • Oversold: <-100 — below normal range

Interpretation

  • Overbought: CCI > +100 = strong upward momentum
  • Oversold: CCI < -100 = strong downward momentum
  • Neutral: CCI near 0 = price at statistical mean
  • Data refreshes periodically — not real-time

Trading Signals

  • Buy: CCI crosses above -100 (recovery)
  • Sell: CCI crosses below +100 (weakening)
  • Zero-line cross confirms the momentum shift

Price Overlay

  • Close Price: Daily closing price (right Y-axis)
  • CCI extreme + price reversing = divergence signal
  • CCI confirming price breakout = strong momentum
  • CCI near zero + price trending = exhaustion likely
